AE 201 - Audio Engineering II


In-depth study of the modern, professional multi-track recording studio, and a continuation of AE 101  . Emphasis is placed on developing increased competencies in a variety of studio skills, including using a comprehensive patch bay and tracing signal flow, properly selecting and using microphones, and using the audio console in a utilitarian and creative manner. Students will use multiple sets of audio monitors and headphones to analyze and mix audio while recording and mixing audio sessions using industry standard digital audio recorders. Students will also learn to read electronic flow charts and schematic diagrams, and develop basic electronic soldering skills.
Prerequisite(s): AE 101
