AE 101 - Audio Engineering

Introductory study of audio principals using the modern multi-track recording studio as the vehicle of study. Emphasis is placed on understanding audio signal, use of the patch bay, recorder control operations, basics of microphone types and construction, an introduction to large-format audio consoles, and signal flow. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the skills necessary to conduct a simple recording session from set up to final mix.
